Published planning range
$1,313–$4,540 / project
Broad Dallas-area residential excavation. This range is not scaled by the dimensions below.
Enter positive length, width and depth to calculate a simple rectangular volume.
This is planning context, not an exact quote. Quantities, conditions and inclusions must be confirmed.
What this estimate can tell you
Select a scope to see its published planning range. Enter length and width in feet and average depth in inches to calculate cubic yards. The volume calculation is length × width × depth ÷ 12 ÷ 27. It describes a rectangular volume before excavation, not the loose quantity in a truck or the compacted quantity in a finished fill.
The residential range is Dallas regional context for broad excavation work. The addition example describes an 800-square-foot Frisco/Plano project scope. The hauling range is regional loading and removal context per cubic yard; its source does not establish whether the yard is measured in place or loose. These different price bases must not be combined into a project total.
Why the price does not change with your dimensions
This tool deliberately keeps published price context separate from your calculated quantity. A small volume behind a narrow gate can require a different method from a larger open-site cut. The inputs flag questions for a scope review, but they do not invent a markup or turn a broad source range into a company quote.
An addition estimate may exclude soil preparation, compaction, testing, permits, retaining systems and work by other trades. For a useful comparison, read the excavation cost guide and ask each proposal to identify material quantities, allowances, access assumptions and exclusions.
Bring the result to a scope discussion
Save the inputs with the share button. The share URL contains only these planning inputs and does not submit a lead. Do not place your address, name or other personal information in these fields.
Bring drawings, the property address, photos taken from safe ground and your material-handling questions to a project discussion. The planning assessment helps identify the information still missing.
